Hodge Podge Mish Mash...

This post is about a bunch of different things, so bear with me.  LOL

I have so many things I want to share with you but I really need a new camera. All I've had to use lately is my phone camera, and it just doesn't do to suit me. Any suggestions on a good point and shoot? I don't want anything fancy - just something that I can use to capture some good pictures to share with you. What do you have? Also, I used to always use Picnik to crop my pictures, but that's no longer available.  What do you use?  (something easy....I'm technologically challenged LOL)

I was looking through my blog and realized that I've not posted much about my cross stitching lately but have mainly concentrated on quilting and sewing.  It's certainly not because I haven't been stitching as I stitch EVERY night while watching TV.  I can't sit down and not have something in my hands....ever.  I've been working on Marianne Wenn (LOVE this sampler), HoHRH, and also a Rico table topper.  I switch between them, stitching on whichever ones screams at me the loudest!  I do have to admit that there are some new things that are screaming at me, too, but I'm trying not to listen.  Anybody else have that problem?  :0)

I got a bit of new stash in the mail the other day.  One of my favorite ONS's was having a sale, so what's a girl to do?  Well, take advantage of it, of course!  Here is what I got.  All Shepherd's Bush, as you can see.  I do love me some Shepherd's Bush. :0)

I have a LOT of small finishes that need to have the "finishing finishing" done on them.  I seriously need to take a few days and just do it.  Here are just a few that are waiting in the wings to be finished up.

I love this Shepherd's Bush finish.  The Jill Rensel mat came in the kit (YAY!), so I just need to get it framed.  It will hang in my pink guest room.

These last two I picked up from the framers a couple of weeks ago.

Now how cute are these buttons?  I saw them at Hobby Lobby (on sale for half price!) and had to pick them up to hang in my sewing room.  Aren't they just the perfect thing?  I love them, and they are in my favorite colors, too.

Lastly, here is a picture of part of the front of our house after having the brick painted.  It's very hard to see the colors (bad camera again), but I'm totally in love with the way it turned out.  I really need to find a picture of this house when I moved into it 16 years ago.  The front is totally different. Actually the whole house is different.  It's taken alot of years, but Bob and I enjoy doing it, so it's been a fun thing to do together - a little at a time.

Well dear friends, I just heard the dryer go off, so I'm being paged.  I hope this week finds you well and getting lots of time to stitch, quilt, sew or whatever makes you smile.  Thank you all so much for stopping by and for leaving comments.  They mean so much to me!  I love my online friends.  :0)

How about a Giveaway? :0)

I think it's time for a Spring giveaway!  The weather here on the Gulf coast in Texas has been beautiful, so I think we should celebrate.  We don't get many of the cooler, low humidity days, so we have to enjoy them while we can.  The triple digit and high humidity days filled with mosquitoes the size of small animals will be here before we know it.  :0)

Jodie from Fort Worth Fabric Studio has done it again with a beautiful fat quarter bundle. (Thank you, Jodie!)  This is a description of what you will receive:

HONEY BEE 2:
1 Fat Quarter of each: Benartex's Crazy Daisy Large Daisy Bloom, Windham's Basic Brights Daisy Yellow, Riley Blake's Tuxedo Floral on White, Quilting Treasures' Kate's Garden Yellow Blooms, Clothworks' Clematis Woven White, Michael Miller's Falling Flowers Yellow, Bentartex's Crazy Daisy Small Daisy Bloom Black, Benartex's Crazy Daisy Mod Pod Black/Yellow, VIP Exclusives' Fantasia Scribbles White, Michael Miller's Garden Pindot Black, Quilting Treasures' Happiness Is Charlie Brown Shirt Yellow, and Windham's Basic Brights Gingham Black.

Aren't these colors pretty together?  I can see a pretty spring table topper, or maybe a tote?  Lots of ideas swimming around in my head.  What would YOU make? She also has this bundle for sale HERE and some beautiful yardage to go with it HERE if you'd like to buy some.  :0)  This is a must have in my stash.

Really?

First of all, sorry for the long time between blog updates.  It's been crazy busy around here, plus I was gone nearly a week visiting my little buglets.  I don't spend much time at all on the computers when I'm visiting them.  Anyway, it's good to be back, and thanks for sticking around!  :0)

Okay....I've been taking some inventory around here.  Not really INVENTORY inventory, but you know what I mean.  Don't ya?  Anywho, I was looking at all of the Block of the Months that I'm enrolled in.  Really? (hence the title of this post) I mean "REALLY"???  I'm in four.  FOUR.  Have I started sewing any of them?  Oh, are you supposed to sew them?  I thought I was just supposed to get this sheer loveliness in the mail, fondle it, organize it, and then wait for next month.  Silly me....

First up is "Sweet and Simple".  I love anything applique because I do love me some handwork.  This one is really nice.  Maybe one of these days I'll start it.  I LOVE the colors. *sigh*

Next up is "Stars and Sprigs" by Kim McLean.  This one has TONS and TONS of applique.  Check out that border.  Whoah!  I don't think I've ever seen so many leaves in my entire life.  I wonder if I'll live long enough to finish this one.  (I guess I'd have better luck if I started it, huh?)

Pretty, huh?  I LOVE it.  I really didn't need to get anything but the pattern every month but noooo... Of course I get the fabric, too.  Lord knows I have plenty of my own fabric yardage and scraps.  Oh well, it's done now.

This next one is probably my favorite.  I LOVE samplers.  They are my favorite thing to cross stitch.  When I first saw this one, I couldn't wait to sign up for it - right up my alley.  This will be the one that I start first.  Maybe next week....or the next.  LOL  It's called "By My Hand".

LOVE. IT.  I love houses, too, so this satisfied several of my loves.  This next one is a favorite, too.

It's a mystery each month, so I get surprised to see what Jennifer at Shabby Fabrics comes up with.  Lots of applique on this one, too.

Speaking of applique....if you are intimidated by trying it but love the look of it, please go to Shabby Fabrics University on YouTube.  OMGosh, these are the BEST instructions EVER.  I've tried many different kinds of applique, but this is my favorite way.

Okay, that's all of the BOM's that I get automatically each month.  But, that's not all that fills my mailbox.  I also get the Designer Select Fat Quarter Club from Fat Quarter Shop every month.  *sigh*  What can I say?  I'm a fat quarter junkie.  LOVE me some fat quarters.  Oh yes I do.  LOL  Who am I kidding?  I'm not only a fat quarter junkie.  I'm a total fabric floozy!  Can any of you relate?  C'mon, I admitted it.  Make me feel better by letting me know I'm not alone in this "illness...passion....addiction...".  :0)

Okay, that's all I'm admitting to today.  Ahhh...that was cleansing.  LOL  I have some cross stitch things to share with you, but will save those.  I think I've admitted enough for one day.  LOL

I hope each and every one you, my friends, have a MOST wonderfully blessed Easter.

I wish you enough,
