Summertime....and the livin' is easy

My daddy used to sing this to us when we were little. (gosh I miss that man!)  It may be easy, but it sure is hot here in SE Texas.  Thank goodness we've had a little rain in the last few days, but the humidity is killer.  I hope you're staying cool where you are.  One thing about having these hot and humid days means more sewing and stitching for me.  I don't venture out for too long at a time.  I might sweat, and we don't want that, do we?  LOL  I might lose a pound, and I'm hanging on to all of mine.  ;0)

I have quite a few pictures to share with you.  First of all is a purse that I made for my sister for her birthday.  I changed up the pattern a little bit, but overall enjoyed making this one. Sorry the picture isn't very good.  I forgot to snap one, and this was taken in my car on the way to deliver it to her.  LOL

I've also been doing a bit of machine embroidering lately.  I haven't played with that in awhile.  This is a pillowcase for Carter.  He also LOVES Buzz Lightyear, so I need to get that one made, and also make a few for Kaylabug.

My nephew is totally obsessed with Thomas the Tank.  I whipped this pillowcase up for him.

I have SO many BOM's that I need to work on.  This one is by This and That and is called "Vintage Memories".  I love the colors in this one.  This is Block 1.

This is Block 2.  Hopefully I will get Block 3 done today and I'll be caught up on this one.

On the stitching front, I've been working on "Sampler Farm" by The Good Huswife.  I didn't realize how much over one stitching this one had, so it's taking me a bit longer to stitch.  My eyes just aren't what they used to be.  I'm nearly finished, though.  Hopefully this one will be ready for the framers this week.

I have several large samplers kitted up and ready to go, but I also have quite a few smaller things calling my name.  I think I'll stitch on a few of them next....unless I change my mind!  LOL  I have several Shepherd's Bush kits that are just so cute.  I love Shepherd's Bush.

Have you discovered Pinterest yet?  OMGosh, I'm just spending way too much time browsing through, pinning and trying out the awesomeness that I'm finding on there.  If you haven't jumped on the Pinterest wagon, you're missing out.  So many good ideas, quick tips, hints, and of course lots of enabling.  (as if I need that!)

Well, time to get off here and get a few things done.  Then I'm going to sit down, stitch, and watch "Criminal Minds" marathon on A & E.  I do love me some "Criminal Minds".

Have a wonderful week filled with lots of stitching and sewing time!

Hugs and love,

Looks like some really nice projects getting done! I love Criminal Minds and thought once Patinkin left, it wouldn't be the same. Mantegna is great! Stay cool!

Lovely progress on your projects. The bag is very lovely. Enjoy your stitching time. I love Criminal Minds too. I think I've watched it too much cause many of the episodes I see on A & E are ones I have seen so many times before.

We finally got rid of the muggies today and were able to turn off the AC and open the windows! Love your GH project. I'm also working on a GH chart as well. Great minds, you know!
Awesome quilt blocks and darling pillow cases, too. Bet the purse was a big hit - it's darling! Stay cool my friend.

Hot and humid just doesn't even begin to describe it, does it?

Love your quilting and the pillowcases too. It looks like you've mastered your Bernina.

Come walk with me in the mornings. I DO sweat by the time I've finished. lol!

What beautiful projects! The bag you made your sister inspires me. I am contemplating making a messenger bag for Hopper. She's ruined the zipper on yet another brand new backpack. She's so rough on them! I haven't decided yet, if I'm going to try to put a new zipper in or not. I'm a little intimidated by it.

I love your little sampler! It's adorable, but I do have a question, and I bring this up, because I would want someone to tell me, if I didn't realize it, but did you leave the J out intentionally? I didn't know, if maybe you weren't finished with it yet and were going to stitch a larger J somewhere else. It really is precious, though! :)

Hi Carolyn!
I'm so glad you popped in and visited! Thank you so much for becoming my newest friend. My blog is fairly new and it just tickled me pink to read your kind comment.

I'd be happy to help you with machine embroidering your own personalized labels. I will put up a little tutorial once my son and his wife head back home to San Diego.

I'm sending some cool breeezes your way!
Blessings,
Carolynn

I think I get more done in the winter than the summer but then we've been really hot here too and all I want to do is lie around not get creative!

Great projects all around!
