Hey y'all,
I hope this week is going well for all of you and that you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Mine is going good and I'm getting some things done, finally! After spending so much time organizing and purging and painting, etc., the creative time was put on the back burner. Even though I still have a bit of organizing to do, I've been cross stitching in the evenings and doing a bit of quilting during the day. If I don't get to do something creative every day, I'm not a happy girl.
I don't have a lot of pictures to share, but will add more soon. My camera is broken, so I have to wait for hubby to take them for me. I'm technologically challenged and haven't figured out how to use his. I don't understand all those lenses and stuff. I just want to use a plain ole point and shoot camera. LOL Anyway, here are few finishes I have.
I so enjoy doing embroidery and redwork, and I LOVE Annies, so this one was so fun to do. This is my Annie Valentine pillow, but I'm sure I will leave it out all the time. I mean, it's red and has polka dots, sooooo.....why not? ;0)
My all time favorite Christmas movie is "It's A Wonderful Life". I watch it every year SEVERAL times. My sweet hubby bought me the movie several years ago so I could watch it over and over. Anywho, these two stitching projects are from the movie. They are both by The Sampler Girl. I love her patterns, and these were so fun and quick to stitch. They were my first stitching finishes of the new year.
I have a few more stitching projects that I've finished, but they are at the framers. I'll share those when I get them back.
I pulled Houses of Hawk Run Hollow back out and I'm bound and determined to finish it this year. I mean, I only started it in 2006. I would say it's time to be a finish instead of a WIP or UFO. :0) I'm also working on Marianne Wren. I love this sampler so much. This is my other large project that I plan to finish this year. In between those two, I'll be stitching smaller things including more Christmas ornaments. I have to have the satisfaction of a finish every now and then. If I do a block a month on HoHRH and a page a month on Marianne Wren, I'll have them both finished well before the year is over. I enjoy stitching them both, so I don't think this will be a problem. (we shall see!)
On the quilting front I've been cutting and organizing scraps, cutting out several quilt projects and also a few purses are ready to make. I like it when I have some things already cut out and I can just start the sewing part. I'm weird like that. ;0)
Other than this, I don't have a lot to tell you except that we are having the weirdest weather EVER this year. One day it's 80 and the next it's 50. No wonder people have been sick.
Okedoke, back to work for me. I need to do something constructive today. Maybe if I just throw flour on my face it will look like I've been busy in the kitchen. Think that will work? :0) Not....
Love and hugs to y'all from Texas,

Yup...it has been totally bi-polar weatherwise this winter.
Where are you in Texas? I am in Frisco, at the north end of the Dallas North Tollway.
Your work reminds me so much of the happy times I spent at Aidaworks in Lewisville. (My mom worked there for nearly 20 years).
Cute pillows...:O)
I have just started sorting all my scraps as well... he he...they have been sitting around for far too long and I am sure they have multiplied while I haven't been watching!
I love the Annie stitchery!
Weird weather here too. We had snow this morning which all melted and now we have blue skies, sunshine and warmth. Weird! Love your stitching. Can't wait to see the others.
I love your Annie piece and how you turned it into a log cabin pillow! Looking forward to seeing your progress on Marianne and HOHRH. And you know I am cheering you on about your ornaments!
Miss you!

You go girl! I'm glad one of us is getting something done! I'm so far behind on everything. We need another chat soon - maybe tomorrow afternoon?
Oh my word, you sound like me, throwing flour on your face to make it look like you've been working in the kitchen!! I LOVE it!! LOL!!
The pillows and your stitchery (is that a word??!!) are beautiful!! You do amazing work!
I love how you have created your Annie cushion. It is so pretty.
Love all your finishes! I am a huge IAWL fan too and your sweet finishes are just perfect. Yep! I'd leave little red Annie out all the time.
I can't wait to see progress pics on HoHRH and Marianne Wenn! Thanks for your lovely email. I haven't forgotten you and will write a longer note back, soon. For now, just taking a quick break at work to catch up!
Lovely photos - love the cushions xx
