A Happy New Year .....GIVEAWAY!

What a better way to start off the New Year than with a giveaway, right?  I thought so! :0)  Jodie at Fort Worth Fabric Studio thinks so, too.  That's why she's offering up a WONDERFUL fat quarter bundle that she's put together called "Full Bloom".  OMGosh, that girl has such an eye when putting fabrics together!  I totally love anything with red,  so this one is screaming at me.  What do you think? Could you find something to make with these pretties?  I know I could.  :0)

FULL BLOOM, a 12 piece Fat Quarter Bundle blooming with possibilities! :o) Featuring Henry Glass' Daisy Dance along with fabrics by Michael Miller, Timeless Treasures,
Riley Blake, and Moda.

Here is what to do:

1.  Follow my blog and leave a comment saying that you do.
2.  Go to Fort Worth Fabric Studio and sign up for their newsletter.  You'll be glad you did!  Come back and tell me you did so.

If you would like any extra entries, you can do these things:

3. I'm getting ready to re-paint my sewing studio. Any suggestions of a good color? I would LOVE any ideas on this one. I'm a bit stumped right now.
4.  Post on your blog about the giveaway and come back and post here.
5.  Put the info on Facebook and come back and tell me here.
6.  Tweet about it, leave a link to your tweet, and tell me here.

So that is 2 that are mandatory and 4 extras - 6 chances to win.

This giveaway will end on January 5th and the winner will be announced on January 6th.  PLEASE PLEASE make sure that I have a way to get in touch with you if you sign up.  No-reply bloggers that don't leave their email address won't be able to be contacted.

Sooo, that's the scoop on the giveaway.  Any New Year's plans?  None here, and I'm glad.  I love staying home on New Year's Eve.  I used to love to party that night, but now I'm just a happy girl with my sewing machine or hand work, my hubby, some old movies, a comfy quilt, and some yummy coffee.  I know, I know, I need to get out more!  But that sounds like heaven to me.  LOL  It doesn't take much, does it?  Then of course the traditional black-eyed peas, ham, and cabbage for New Year's dinner.  GOTTA have that, for sure!

Speaking of old movies, I have one in my Netflix queue thingee (Dial M for Murder) that is calling my name.

Happy New Year, dear friends!  My wish for you is that your new year will be blessed with all that you need, with those that you love.  Be safe!

Hugs and love from TX,

Funny you should ask about colors for your sewing studio - I'm moving into my son's old bedroom which is now painted a dark royal blue. NOT great for viewing colors! I'm thinking about a cream/very light tan color with white trim. I don't want anything that will make fabric colors look "off".

LIME GREEN would be a nice calming color to paint your studio. Did you ever see tht paint commercial where the parents have kids running around and the one parent says that it would have a calming effect? Then after they paint the room the kids are just sitting there peacefully looking at it. That commercial has me convinced. LIME GREEN it is!

It seems like I read some years ago that blue is good for creativity so I always thought I would paint my sewing room blue -- if I ever cleared it out enough to paint! Recently I read that blue is an appetite suppressant so maybe if I weren't hungry I could spend more time sewing! Just an idea.

For a paint color, I would suggest something either neutral or on the light side. Too dark or bright or intense and it will affect the way your fabrics look as you are trying to put colors and prints together on your quilts.

As for colors...I am into green myself...after my divorce when I moved back home with my folks for a while, my sweet daddy painted my bedroom for me...GREEN!!! In the paint can, it looked..well, not so good even though I ADORE GREEN, but sitting in that room on my bed while I sewed or read or scrapbooked, I was so comfortable!!! It was relaxing, yet not sleepy, and I always felt creative!!!

Colours for sewing room. I would recommend either a soft blue or yellow as these are supposed to promote creativity and calm - two things we need when sewing. But I would also cover one wall with blackboard paint so you can write down all your ideas and/or add some fabric that allows you to hang blocks up so you can see how your quilts etc are progressing.
Looking forward to seeing the end results.
