Another UFO finished YAY!!!

I think this was my second oldest UFO.  After the Christmas bee exchange back in 1994,  we did the tree exchange.  With the help from one of the ladies at my quilt shop YEARS ago, we finally figured out how to set the squares, and then I decided to make it a little larger by adding the border.  My sweet neighbor machine quilted it for me, and I finished hand sewing the binding down.

It's washed and dried and sooooo soft! I've already spent some time snuggling under this one. :0)  I named it "Family Tree". I hope you like it. :)

Last night I finished up a cross stitch piece that I had started earlier in the year.  It's called "It's Berry Time" by Blackbird Designs.  I love every single thing that Barb and Alma design including quilt patterns and cross stitch.  However, for some reason I had a hard time stitching this one. It wasn't hard.  It's in my favorite color.  I just didn't seem to enjoy the "journey" like I normally do.  I love it now, though, and can't wait to get it framed.  (It's sorta crooked, but it's not framed yet.)

I've been stitching a few ornaments in the evenings and working in my sewing studio/pit/cave during the day.  :0)  It's totally a work in progress, but I WILL get there.

There will be a giveaway soon, so be sure and check back.  Thank you so much for visiting!  I love it when you stop by.  :0)

Hugs and love from Texas,

Gorgeous work, Carolyn! I'm going to have to come by. I need a mentor as I want to make a quilt, for Jenn, who is graduating in May, out of her scholastic t-shirts. Any ideas? :) See you soon dear friend!

"sewing studio/pit/cave"! That made me laugh out loud. I know exactly what you mean. My "studio" is in the basement and it could use some decorating, but that always seems to fall at the bottom of my list. Thanks for visiting my shop.

Wow! That Family Tree quilt was a long time coming! Congratulations. It looks fantastic. I also adore cross stitch samplers. Once in a while I get out the box of floss and patterns and do one of those, too. Have a super day!

What a beautiful quilt! And how rewarding it is to finish something that has been hanging over your head! I always feel like those UFOs are talking down to me and belittling my lack of attentiveness to them!

The cross stitch is cute, too. I would love to cross stitch again. Maybe once I get my bifocals? LOL

Mostly, though, I want to make quilts for the girls. I think I'm going to try a rag quilt. I'd love to somehow incorporate butterflies. Maybe a big one in the center? Any ideas??
