For quite some time I've wanted to change quite a few things in my sewing studio. We've already done a ton of things in there, but being a woman, my mind has changed again. LOL I know you other ladies out there can NOT relate. HA! I have cabinets and a counter top that are coming out. That will involve repainting, of course. I'm really wanting to put up wood plank ceilings. I'm not sure that will fly, but we'll see. I usually come up with the ideas, and my wonderful husband makes it happen.
*These are the cabinets and counter that I want to remove*
As far as organization goes, I've been working really hard on this. For my yardage I've been using the comic book boards and I LOVE them. The price is right and I just love the look of them. I have 3 more packages of 100 on the way. :) I know, shame.
* Here is a picture of some of my fabric on the comic boards. Love this!*
Here are a few more pictures of the rest of the room at this point. These are the floor to ceiling cabinets that my husband built for me. I love them!

Here is the side of the room where I do my sewing and machine embroidering. The long arm quilting machine is in another room. There is no way it would fit in here. This picture was taken before I put these fabrics on the comic boards. My husband made my cutting table for me. The top is the size of a sheet of plywood and he topped it with kitchen counter laminate. VERY easy to clean. I have two of the 36 inch cutting mats on it with a bit of room to spare. One side has drawers in the middle that are just the right height to hold my boxes of embroidery threads. He put shelves on both sides for me that are crammed with Rubbermaid (I'm totally the rubbermaid or sterlite or whatever brand it is, QUEEN). I WILL be "un-cramming" them during this overhaul. He made it the perfect height for me for when I have to stand and cut for a long time. I'm short, so it helps not to have to raise my arms all the time.

I always look forward to home remodeling. Unfortunately, one thing usually leads to another. Have you found that happens to you? LOL You KNOW it does! Any suggestions for me? I do know that I'm going to change the paint color. Even though I love love my red, I'm ready for something else, and since we are going to have to paint anyway, might as well change it up. It's hard to see since most of the wall is covered up, but halfway up on all the walls is beadboard painted in glossy white. I WILL be leaving that. I love it.
Happy Saturday!
Hugs and Love,

Sounds like great fun. But the messing is the fun part.
I'm doing the comic book boards, too - they're GREAT!
oooo you sound just like me atm ... be warned what comes out doesn't always go back in again ..lol having emptied my craft room to redecorate and then re organising I have found out that stuff is not going back in even though I have got rid of furniture and stuff that I won't use too ... love mouse xxx
Mouse, I hope you are right about some of it not going back in. That's one of the reasons I'm doing this so I can see exactly what I have, what I use, and what I can get rid of. Ridiculous! Scrapbooking, then sewing, then cross stitch, then quilting. I just love it all!! LOL No wonder my mind is going a million miles an hour all the time. LOL
I'm still waiting for your hubby to come do my sewing room makeover...
So my son works at a comic book store. Did you just wrap the fabric around the boards, or tape it or what? I would like to do this too! Excellent idea!

Oh wow I just love it. It looks wonderful. I love to de-clutter and to be honest over the last 12 months I have really de-cluttered so now I only have what I know I will use. Isn't it funny how our tastes change. I sold off alot of the stash I knew I wouldn't use and the money I made bought my lovely unit which holds all my stitching stash now. How I wished I lived nearer I would come and help you paint! x
It is going to be awesome! Should I send you my address so you know where to send the stuff that won't fit back in?
Having redone my studio a few times one of the most handy items I have is a peg board for hanging my rulers and such. If you have a wall for it, I highly recommend it.
My new sewing room is Monet Blue. It looks blue in natural light, but a little on the purple side in artificial light. But once I got furniture in the room, you never notice that - just a really peaceful, relaxing color.
For a more lively color, you may want to try a soft yellow to inspire creativity.
Whatever you choose, I'm sure you're going to love it! New spaces (or redecorated spaces) are always exciting. :D
It looks like it will be so beautiful and relaxing when you're done. You just need a massage therapist in there and the whole thing will come together!! ..I'm thinking of the comic boards too and hoping that will help me organize my fabric "piles". Thx for the tip.
Can't wait to see what color you choose....and all the "after" photos! You have a lovely room to work with!!

Love your room! Where do you get the comic boards from?
Looks like a great project, can not wait to see the outcome.
The fabrics are so colourful!
Happy blogoversary :)
Where do you get your comic boards. I need to get some that are better priced that what I have seen around...
I need to redo my room again. I want to do the comic book boards thing, but I bought a big foam board and was going to cut it up. I'll have to see about the boards instead. Love to see other spaces. It gives me more ideas:0)
Wow! What a beautiful studio! I am really looking forward to pictures of it when it's remodeled! You make me want to get downstairs to mine and get to sorting something fierce. One of these days... :)
Oh. And I pinned your comic board idea on Pinterest several weeks ago. I think it may have been my first pin. I love it *that* much! :)
