See? I told you I'd be back with a positive post. LOL Actually, today has been a good day so far. For those that have been following me for awhile, you know I've had that QBot that goes on my long arm that's been looking at me and making me feel guilty because I never use it. Well NO MORE! I went down to the quilt shop today and traded that baby in. Yep, I took a loss on what I paid for it, but who cares. It's not doing me any good just sitting there. Soooo I got another machine. That would make 3 now. But before you get your undies in a figure 8, it really will be a help to me.
I got the Viking Sapphire (very hard for me to do - I'm a Bernina girl all the way but they don't sell Bernina's), but the cool thing about it is that it has the longer....is it called plate? arm? whatever, that will give me more room to do my free motion quilting. The only difference in this one and the other Sapphire is that it doesn't do the automatic cut (I think I can handle a pair of scissors) and doesn't have as many stitches. I don't need a gazillion stitches. My Bernina does more than I'll ever do in a lifetime. Sooooo, I'm a happy camper. Owners classes start Friday morning at the pre-crack of dawn (we get three), so I will be hitting those so I can at least learn how to thread this mother.
NOW, the next question. Do I learn how to use the MegaQuilter without the Qbot (yes!) or sell it. I think before I do anything rash, I'm going to give it a shot. I'm so proud of myself I could just spit!! I'm going to hit YouTube, and Yahoo groups and everything it takes for me to learn this. I'm bound and determined. Hold me accountable, okay? That's why I'm putting this out there. So you will hold me to my word. That's what friends do, righto? :)
Another post without a picture. hmmmm.....I guess I could go through my pictures and try to find something to show you. I tried to copy the picture of the machine I'm getting to put on here, but it wouldn't let me. :(
So, I will bid you adieu and go clean potties. Don't be jealous. You KNOW you wish you were me. You know it. LOL
Love ya to the moon and back,

Girl you are gonna love your Viking. I wouldn't buy any other machine!!!
Luvs ya, Loosie
You go girlfriend!
Yesterday was a bugger and I had to get out and do errands today - I'm beat. No potty cleaning for me today (unless you wanna come do them) but I HAVE to do laundry. Gonna call you tomorrow for a nice long chat!
Hugs,
t
Could you post a picture of your machines? I have my machine from Sears.. just a regular sewing machine.. I think it would be very interesting and educational for others to learn with you...even if we don't have the same machine we can learn a LOT!! Also, perhaps there is another blog follower out there who has the same machine and is willing to give you tips of the trade. :) I think most quilters are wonderfully sharing people willing to help in a second. I know I would help if I had anything helpful to share.
Yay Carolyn! Glad you traded in the Qbot for another machine (and looking forward to seeing what you create with your new Viking)! I bet one of the weights lifted from shoulders now that it isn't staring you in the face!
Hmmm...maybe a stitching visit, but definitely no potty cleaning!

Wow! Icant wIt to see it! Pics please! TTYL
Oh I am so jealous - not - of the cleaning potties...
Good for you on your new machine - have fun at owner's class!
Grats on the new acquisition, Carolyn. I hope you love it. And lucky you, cleaning potties...
Enjoy your new machine!
Well, the new machine makes the cleaning a little more bearable, doesn't it? LOL Hope you can post pictures and tell us all about it. I only have a simple machine, so I'm always interested in learning more. Maybe one day when my ship comes in, I can make an informed purchase!!
Lucky you! A new Viking. I'm absolutely green with marvelous amounts of envy! Let us know how it goes!
Have a super day!

LOL with you sewing machines give me a headache ...I have a happy Janome and my old faithful Janome which I still pull out occasionally. I also have a Singer Featherweight I bought to take away with me but we don't get along very well. I should sell it.
Yay indeed! Now if you could just find a sewing machine that cleans toilets.... lol :)
I'm jealous! I can't wait until I am good enough to purchase a long arm. Until then, I'll keep learning. I enjoy your blog ... thanks!
Sounds like you did the best thing - you can do it! Enjoy!
youtube is the best place to learn how to do something! I wish I could help but the sewing machine is my nemesis ;)
I have the Viking sapphire and just love it! I also so have a Baby lock named Audrey which I also love. I keep a walking food on the Viking and piece on Audrey.
