Do any of you awesome quilters out there have a Mega Quilter and/or a Q-Bot? Well, I do and I'm clueless. I mean TOTALLY clueless. I've had them both for awhile and never used them once. NOT. ONE. TIME. I don't even know how to load a quilt on it. And the Q-Bot? It might as well be from outer space - again, clueless. I really think people should get lessons on them when they buy them from a shop like when you buy a sewing machine and get lessons. I know they come with a DVD, but there is quite a bit more to it than that. Afterall, they cost more than a LOT of sewing machines, so it would be nice to be taught how to use it.
I talked to a friend and she has both, too, but she said she doesn't use her Q-Bot that much as she really likes to do the free motion quilting herself. I'm more of a "show me" sort of learner, where there are so many lucky ones that can just read an instruction manual and fly a plane. Unfortunately there are no "show me" people around here to help me out. Gosh, what a waste of money for me. :(
I have this horrible guilt when I look at it. It rolls it's eyes at me...calls me stupid....says neener neener....it doesn't like me. I can feel it. I guess my only choice right now is to try to find something on that UTube thingee (there is everything on there) and see if I can figure out the rest. If not...well I guess I'll just sell it. Or kick it. Actually that's what I'd rather do anyway (sell it not kick it LOL). I could use the room and the money. But...I'm just stubborn enough that I don't want it thinking it defeated me. I'm kinda like that. I think people like that are called mules?
Anywho, I was just wondering if any of you had any wonderful inspiration, some hints or tips, etc., that might make this doable for me. I'll send you all my stash ( I lie). I'll send you all three of my dogs (they don't eat much HAHAHAHAHAHA). I'll send you my bills. I will totally make it worth your while, as you can see. Wanna be my Q-Bot Mega Quilter buddy? We could call it the QBMQ club. Yeah..that sounds good.
"Quit looking at me that way". It's looking at me again. grrrr....
Hugs and love from Texas,

He he, good post.
No sorry, I don't have either. I have a very basic Brother and a just as basic Janome. Both pretty good little machines, but ... well ... basic.
I have a Nolting Fun Quilter, called Tipsy. She laughs at me all the time. I've used her once. I feel your pain. =)
Oh come on girlfriend - you can figure it out!
Watch a u-tube and get an old sheet, tear it in half and load it and play with it.
Can't help you, Carolyn - you know I don't quilt but I have the same thing going with a cricut. My sister gave me hers and it just stares at me and is collecting dust and is doing no good at all. It has a cd to listen to but I just want to know how to work it. I don't want to have to study....
XOXO
I actually do have a mega quilter and a qbot and I have never been able to figure it out either!##@$&^%**&#
Maybe if we complain to the manufacture they will send a rep to our houses to show us!
I actually tried it a few times but got so frustrated I just threw my hands up and walked away........there must be an easier way!
LOL, I feel the same way about that monster I bought. It's nowhere near the level of yours but I am so intimidated by it. I turn it on, either break a needle or the thread, and then just walk away. I'll swear it laughs at me. John just looks at me and says it can't be that hard. Maybe I'll just kick him!!
I did not know what they were, so did a search. I think you are right.... I would not buy that kind of machine and attachment without some instructions. Looks a bit complicated to me.
I don't even know what a Q-bot is. lOl
Do you have a quilt guild or quilt shop that could show you?
Hey there! You can do it! I am a Quilt Shop owner in Canada and have sold QBot to my customers. I have one and although I don't have much time to use it, I have in the past. You can't hurt it or the machine. Join the QBot site (www.myqbot.com) and have at it! It is a fantastic means of getting all those tops quilted. If you can host this blog, you can work your QBot! You can call the folks at Lighten Up that made the QBot and extract your pound of flesh from them as well! Good luck!
