oink oink
Last year I purchased a long arm quilting machine from my neighbor down the street. I have put it up, taken it down to put cribs up when the babies come, put it back up, etc., but have yet to learn how to USE it. Hmmmm....something is wrong with this picture, wouldn't you say? My sweet, sweet neighbor has offered to come show me, and I will be taking her up on that offer very, very soon. Just as soon as we finish at my mom's house and I have my life back, that's first on the list. I have quite a few quilt tops, mainly small lap size, that I want to finish. They have been hanging around here for years. They need to be FINISHED, dontchathink?
OMGosh, I found the most awesome website for stashbusting. It's for quilting stash, but I plan to use the same principle with my cross stitching. I am DONE buying for awhile. I'm sure each and every reader can relate, but I have more than I can do in ten lifetimes. I just wish I could stitch with both hands, doing two things at once!
Anywho, for any of you quilters out there, or those that might be interested in stashbusting, here is the link:

Over on the right hand side, if you scroll down, she has several pages on how to use your own stash, and how to organize it, etc. AWESOME!!! I've spent many, many hours on this page and have started working on organizing my own stash differently.
Also, I found this link. I think it's sorta old, but I always love to see pictures of other's sewing rooms. Check this out:

It a fun place to just roam around and maybe get an idea or two.
I.MISS.MY.GRANDBABIES. So there. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out how we can move closer to them. Unfortunately, since we aren't independently wealthy, we have to go where Bob can get a job. I'm sure he could find one there, but the time is not quite right. Once mom's dealings are all taken care of, then I can concentrate on my own house. Kevin and Shannon are closing on their first house today, so I know they will be staying in that area for awhile. Plus, Kevin got a new job...no more waiting tables. WOOHOOO!!! He will be a 911 dispatcher, while he takes his EMT and firefighter classes. Lot's of new things going on. I'm so proud of them, though. They both seem so level headed (more so than I was at their age!).
Here is a picture of all of us at the beach the last time they were here:
It's obvious those sweet babies were hot and tired, but they did have a blast playing on the beach. Time for me to make a visit up their way, I believe. My "neck sugars" have all run out, and I need to replenish them! :)
Well, time to get dinner ready. I am going to TRY to post more often as time permits. I miss you all so much! I have to thank so many of you that have emailed, commented, called, etc. Losing Mom has been one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. I miss her every single day. Your contacts with me help....more than you ever know. So THANK YOU!!! Dear friends, that you are!
As always, I wish you enough.....
Love and HUGE hugs from Texas,
Carolyn
