Finally a finish, a giveaway, and a sweet surprise!

Hello dear friends,

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. Mine started out with a wonderful surprise in the mail that I'd love to share with you. Dear sweet Miss Staci sent me this adorable floss tag "to brighten my day". Well, she certainly did!! Thank you so much, Staci. It's adorable and your work is flawless, as always.

Next I have a finish (FINALLY!) to share with you. Actually, this has been a UFO for 3 years. I had all of the stitching totally done and even had the date 2006 stitched on it. The only thing that it lacked was sewing on the beads and the charms. I can't believe I waited three years to do that. ANYWHO, I frogged out the date and changed it to 2009, added the embellishments and now have a finish. The problem is.....the box that this goes in costs a BUNCH..nearly $200.00 and I'm really not willing to pay that for a box. So, do you think it would look dumb framed? Tell me what you think - all suggestions are welcomed. I'd really like to actually have it totally finished. This was one expensive project. It's called "My Stitching Treasures" and is by Jeanette Douglass. I stitched it on my all time favorite fabric - 32 ct. Days Gone By, and used the fibers that came in the chart pack. Here is a picture of it. Not a very good picture, but you can get the idea. (If you click on the picture, you will get a close up).

I had such fun stitching this one, as it's filled with specialty stitches.

GIVEAWAY: If you would like to have this gently used chart, please leave a comment ON THIS POST and leave your email address, and I will randomly draw a name on Wednesday. If you like specialty stitches, you will really enjoy it. The charm pack that I bought to go with it was ridiculously expensive. You can put whatever you want as far as charms and buttons go on this one. They can be found at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. for a heck of a lot cheaper than I paid for them. So if you are interested, be sure and sign up. It's a fun stitch!

Tomorrow I go to court for the probating of my Mom's will. I'm so not looking forward to it, but it's another step towards getting things taken care of. My sisters and I worked all day Friday at her house cleaning out food, pantry, refrigerator, etc. and trying to decide who gets what furniture wise. We'll decide on the other things later. THERE IS A LOT. My Mom was a collector of many things, so there is lots to go around, for sure. Where to put it?? Who knows....

Well dear ones, I will close for now. Have a wonderful week, and don't forget to comment if you want to sign up, or even if you don't want to sign up. I just love hearing from you!

I wish you enough...

With love,
Carolyn

I love your stitching treasures finish and I think it will look wonderful framed. I have this chart and the fabric and floss too I think, but have yet to start it. Maybe it should go in the "needs to be stitched soon" pile.

What a sweet gift the floss tag was and it's as cute as can be! I love your Stitching Treasures and I think, framed with a mat cut to the same shape as the outer edge, this would look glorious framed.
Good luck with the probate stuff - nothing easy about that. Sending good thoughts your way.

I think it would look just fine framed. Nothing on the piece says "I am a box lid". Please enter me in the drawing for the chart. I would love to stitch this. Good luck in probate court. I have been there and it is just a formality.

That is a wonderful floss tag you received from Staci. Congrats on your finish, it looks wonderful already.

I think it would look lovely framed as well - either with a custom cut mat, or perhaps in a custom shaped frame that follows the outline of the stitching (of course, that might end up costing you just as much as the box!)

It's a lovely piece, but please don't enter me in the drawing. Like Staci, I already have piles of stuff in need of stitching.

Your stitching treasures is beautiful & yeah, I say frame it. I would too if I had it. All the treasures are pictured on the design so you don't need a box. It is like a sampler type thing then. Go for it. Do it how you like it!

Hugs to you on the loss of your mum too. She looks like a lovely lady.

It's nice to see you posting on here. Hope everything went well with the probate stuff.
Your finish is so pretty. I think it would look great framed - maybe a simple wood frame that wouldn't take away from the piece.
Please don't enter me in the drawing. I'll give someone else a chance to win your lovely pattern.

I just saw this stitched last week at a cross stitch show in NH. It is beautiful. The man in the booth didn't know who it was by and couldn't find the pattern. Thanks so much for this post. I bought some of the charms for it and the box that it was finished in was beautiful. ($65) Now I can look for the pattern. Yes it is a very expensive project!!!
