Monday, Monday...

We had a nice Thanksgiving with everyone here. Naturally everyone was stuffed to the gills, but having the family together is always a pleasure. I have to admit, though, that I was glad when everyone left and I was able to sit in my chair and stitch for a bit. :)

I finished stitching the ornament that I had started and need to finish it and several others off so I can hang them on the tree. I plan on Wednesday being "ornament finishing day". Tomorrow I will be busy with my Mom. She has pneumonia and I will be taking her back to the doctor. It amazes me that they don't put people in the hospital for pneumonia these days. She's been VERY sick and I've been worried to death about her.

I picked "Snapperville" back up last night. I'm stitching it over one on 32 count. I need to have my head examined. These old eyes aren't handing this as well as I thought I would. It will be adorable when finished, though. I think I will finish it into a flat fold. It will be the perfect size for that. I need desperately to get back to some of my WIPS, but can't seem to get motivated to do so. They are all sooooo big, and I'm in the mood for quick finishes right now. I have several things pulled out and kitted up to start. What's a girl to do? LOL I just love starting new projects. :)

Our local quilt shop is going out of business. :( Being a quilter, too, I have spent many hours in that store. They are having a sale and I still have part of a gift certificate to use up, so will probably hit them up this afternoon. There's nothing like buying new stash, whether it is quilting or stitching stash!

All eleven Christmas trees are decorated and we've finished decorating the outside. We look like the Griswold's on "National Lampoon Christmas Vacation"! Two of the inside trees have to be undecorated and re-decorated because the lights have quit working on them. We've changed the fuses, etc., but they still don't work. This is so frustrating! I guess I will get busy on that this morning.

I have made a HUGE and I do mean HUGE stash wish list for Christmas. Bob is so good about giving me gift certificates to my favorite shops, so I will have fun with those. It's not like I need anything, but what does "need" have to do with anything, right? LOL

Have a happy Monday!

Carolyn :)

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I plan to use this space to share my stitching and hopefully share a few of my thoughts along the way. I welcome your comments (be kind!).

I have stitched several pieces this month but can't share pictures yet as they are gifts. :) I will post them as soon as they have been received. Last night I started an ornament. I needed a "quick fix", so I picked up "A Western Christmas" by Redbird Designs. I have quite a few of their charts, but have to admit that I haven't stitched any of them up til this point. This will proudly hang on my cross stitch only Christmas tree. It is decorated exclusively with ornaments that either my dear friends or I have stitched over the years. It truly is my favorite tree in the house (I put up 11 this year!). I will post a picture of my trees as soon as I finish decorating. I have to start quite early since I put up that many, but I ADORE this time of year and decorating for the holidays.

The next few days will be spent getting ready for Thanksgiving. The whole family will be coming to our home, so I have lots of preparing to do. I love having them all here and cooking for the mulititude! My son will be home from college tomorrow, and I have no doubt he will have a PILE of dirty clothes in tow along with my granddog, Miss Sadie. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you. I hope you have many blessings to be thankful for. I know I do.
